Kannotburn is a single line station located somewhere on the West Highland Railway.
The layout was originally started by Trevor Hale as an EM gauge model set on the West Highland Line circa 1970. He then sold it to Bentley MRG who have made a few changes. The original track has been replaced by OO gauge Peco Streamline so that a wider range of members can run their own stock. The layout has also been backdated to the steam to diesel transition era of the early 1960s which allows a greater variety of stock to be operated.
The layout is wired for DCC operation. Many of the locomotives are fitted with sound decoders supplied by YouChoos. These include examples which could been seen on the West Highland such as the ex-LNER K1 and B1 and the ex-LMS Black Five.
